It’s been the hottest travel destination in the wider region amid the pandemic: Cancun.

And the Mexican Caribbean hotspot continues to see rapid airlift growth, particularly from fast-expanding carrier Frontier Airlines, which just kicked off four new routes to the destination.

Both the Boston and Minneapolis routes are operating daily; Baltimore-Cancun is operating four times each week, and Detroit-Cancun is running three times per week.

“We’re excited to grow our robust Cancun network with four new nonstop routes launching this week from Baltimore, Boston, Detroit and Minneapolis,” said Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial, Frontier Airlines. “Frontier has rapidly expanded its international service and continues to identify new opportunities to stimulate tourism demand with low fares and convenient flights. We now offer the most nonstop Cancun routes of any U.S. airline this winter.”

And it’s part of a broader expansion: on Jan. 21,  Frontier will start twice-weekly service from Columbus, Ohio to Cancun.
