Cancun Tourism Keeps Surpassing Pre-Pandemic Levels

Tourism to Cancun continues to surpass pre-pandemic levels, according to new data from ASUR, which manages Cancun International Airport.

The Mexican Caribbean hub reported passenger traffic of 2.041 million in November, representing a 9.2 percent increase over the same period in 2019.

Unsurprisingly, that also represented a significant 78 percent jump over November 2020.

That number included international traffic of 1.293 million passengers, according to ASUR.

For the year to date, Cancun is down just 14.5 percent over the first 11 months of 2019, and is reporting an 83.6 percent improvement over last year.

The numbers do not include transit passengers.
