Boutique cruise firm Seabourn has returned to Antigua, part of the island’s cruise relaunch.

Seabourn Odyssey visited St John’s on July 20, the second cruise ship to call on the island since cruising restarted earlier this month.

The 11-deck cruise liner brought 111 fully vaccinated passengers to the island.

“It is a great opportunity for Antigua and Barbuda and it signifies that our cruise industry has

restarted and it has restarted strongly,” said Colin James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority.

The first few calls have been boutique ships, something that has given local officials the chance to test its health and safety protocols, James said.

“As of next week, passengers will be able to move around in small groups on guided tours, they will be able to visits the stores and do some shopping; this will enable us to get back in the swing of things in a safe manner,” he said.
