The Sandals Royal Barbados Resort Is Expanding

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 1, 2021

Sandals Resorts International is expanding again in the Caribbean, this time to its flagship resort in Barbados.

The Sandals Royal Barbados all-inclusive is set to unveil a significant expansion project on July 1, 2021.

The company is adding 66 new suites to the South Seas Village at Sandals Royal Barbados.

“Sandals Royal Barbados is the ultimate indulgent resort for couples who are looking for top-of-the-line luxury. We’ve added more suites, restaurants, and pools to elevate our options which further enhance the already incredible guest experience,” said Adam Stewart, Executive Chairman of Sandals Resorts International. “This news comes on the heels of our recent expansion at Sandals South Coast, bringing the world’s first Swim-up Rondoval Suites to Jamaica and a re-imagined beachfront Dutch Village, as well as new properties in Curaçao and St Vincent and the Grenadines, marking nine Caribbean islands for the Sandals Resorts International footprint.”

That will bring its total room count to 338, which will include Rondoval, Skypool, and Crystal Lagoon swim-up suites, along with Millionaire Butler Suites.

The expansion will also see the addition of two new wellness-focused eateries: The Greenhouse Restaurant and Sol Cafe.

The latter will bring the restaurant’s restaurant count to nine.

Sandals is additionally adding two new “relaxing pools” to complement the resort’s Red Lane fitness center.

Guests at Sandals Royal Barbados have exchange privileges with the neighboring Sandals Barbados resort, creating a complex of 20 total restaurants, 14 bars and 11 pools.

“This moment of unparalleled expansion at Sandals Resorts is something we are proud of, as we continue to raise the bar on the Luxury Included® vacation experience and support the region we love so deeply,” Stewart said.

Sandals Barbados is slated to reopen on April 2.
