This Aruba Resort’s New Solar Project

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 25, 2021

The Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa in Aruba has taken a major step in its green journey with the launch of a new solar panel project.

The resort, which has been Green Globe Certified for years, has installed 100 kWh of solar panels, enough to generate 20 percent of its electricity from solar energy.

“As we work hard to make the world a better place to live, introducing solar power was a natural next step in our sustainable tourism journey,” said Edgar Roelofs, general manager at the resort. “With an almost guaranteed daily 5 to 6 hours of Aruba solar power we will be generating well over 182,500 kilowatt hours of power annually for the resort.”

The 72-room resort is set on Eagle Beach, close to the Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, a property that has long been a leader in the Caribbean green movement — making it just about the greenest corner of the island.

The project was installed by Engysol Aruba.
