Frontier Airlines has kicked off its newest Caribbean route, with new flights between Denver, Colo. and the island of Cozumel in Mexico.

Frontier launched the route on Feb. 13; it will be operating once each week on Saturdays, according to the carrier.

“We’re delighted to begin nonstop flights from Denver to Cozumel, offering a third nonstop route from Denver to Mexico, joining service to Cancun and Puerto Vallarta,”said Daniel Shurz, senior Vice President of commercial at Frontier. “This island destination is known for its scenic beaches and relaxed atmosphere – the perfect place to unplug and unwind in the sun.”

It’s yet another new air route for the Mexican Caribbean, which continues to show strength amid the challenges of the pandemic.

Cozumel has become increasingly popular with travelers, growing beyond its traditional niche as a dive hotspot into more of an all-around vacation destination.
