Bahamas to Host Virtual Romance Expo

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 10, 2021

The Bahamas is looking to solidity its place as one of the world’s top wedding and honeymoon destinations with a pair of romance expos next month.

The two virtual events, dubbed “From The Bahamas With Love” will run on March 3 and 10th, respectively.

The first event on March 3 is geared toward trade professionals, travel agents and event planners.

The second event will be open to consumers, including soon-to-be-engaged or recently engaged couples, future brides and grooms and bachelorette party planners, among others.

“The pandemic has caused many couples to postpone or reimagine their romantic getaways over the last year, and the destination wants to ensure future planning is made as seamless as possible in 2021,” The Bahamas’ Ministry of Tourism said in a statement.

The virtual events will include a number of panels and breakout sessions and workshops, along with prizes, giveaways and “Taste of The Bahamas” experiences, which will include mixology demonstrations and fashion shows.

“With intimate, secluded cays, unmatched turquoise waters and pink- and white-sand beaches,

to understand why The Bahamas is considered one of the world’s most romantic destinations,” said Joy Jibrilu, Director General of the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism and Aviation. “With so many offerings available, we are thrilled to connect consumers to experts across a number of industries through our virtual romance expo experience to ensure the ease of planning a romantic Bahamian getaway, especially after so many plans were upended this last year.”
