The newest hotel in Puerto Rico officially opened its doors last week, Caribbean Journal has learned. 

Palacio Provincial, the first new hotel in Old San Juan in years, is set in a former diplomatic building in the heart of the old capital. 

The boutique property, which features 43 rooms and suites, is also home to a rooftop pool and terrace space, along with a restaurant called Consular. 

It’s an injection of energy into what remains one of the most charming historic districts in all of the Caribbean, a hip, stylish entry to the market.

It’s also the newest Caribbean member of Preferred Hotels, the largest independent hotel brand in the world.
