Anguilla Names New Director of Tourism

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - January 8, 2021

Anguilla has named a new director of tourism, the island’s tourist board announced.

The destination has tapped tourism veteran Stacy Liburd to the role, in a move that took effect Jan. 4.

“We have put together a very strong Board at the ATB,” said Anguilla Tourism Minister Haydn Hughes. “The Anguilla Tourist Board will be strengthened by this appointment that was made by me after careful consideration in consultation with my tourism partners and in keeping with the ATB Act. Liburd possesses the skills to help navigate the day-to-day operations during these unprecedented times and she has our confidence and support as we forge ahead.”

Liburd most recently served as sales and marketing manager for the Quintessence Hotel in Anguilla. She’s also worked with properties including Zemi Beach House, Tranquility Beach and Santosha Estate, among others.

“I am honored that the Board has entrusted me with this awesome responsibility,” Liburd said.  “I am a passionate believer in Anguilla’s extraordinary tourism product and look forward to working closely with my colleagues at the Board, the Ministries of Health and Tourism, and with our industry stakeholders to recapture our market share, rebuild and rebrand our destination as the most desirable vacation experience in the Caribbean.”
