Sunwing Airlines Returns to the Caribbean

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 18, 2020

Canada’s Sunwing Airlines has officially returned to the Caribbean.

The first Sunwing flight to the Caribbean since March landed this weekend in Punta Cana, part of a return to what the company is calling “responsible travel.”

Sunwing will be running twice-weekly flights from Toronto to Punta Cana this winter, along with twice-weekly flights from Toronto to both Montego Bay and Cancun.

Since August, Sunwing had been sending its customers to the Caribbean on third-party carriers.

The carrier has relaunched with its new “Safe with Sunwing” program, led by the company’s new Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Peter Nord.

“I had the pleasure of travelling with Sunwing from Toronto to Cancun this weekend,” Nord said. “The journey was seamless from check-in and boarding to the flight and resort arrival. The high Canadian standards that Sunwing has implemented are evident through every step of the vacation journey. I can confidently say that, with the Safe with Sunwing commitment in place, Canadians can travel with peace of mind.”
