Saint Lucia’s Marigot Bay Resort to Reopen in October

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - August 6, 2020

Saint Lucia’s Marigot Bay Resort will be reopening on Oct. 1, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Long one of the leading places to stay in Saint Lucia, the resort is most recent to meet the island’s strong COVID-19 hospitality certification protocols.

The property, which reopened its marina this week, will relaunch with more than 100 new preventative actions for health and safety.

The resort, a collection of 57 one, two and three-bedroom residences, each with its own private entrance.

The latter is increasingly a demand for many travelers looking to ensure social distancing on their trips.

That’s right up Marigot Bay’s alley, where each unit ranges from 1,435 square feet to 3,200 square feet, and many room categories come with their own private plunge pools — in other words, the sort of rooms you rarely have to leave.

Indeed, the resort has also created a chef-driven dining experience where the property’s culinary team prepares pre-selected meals outdoors on the guests’ balconies (or in the airy resort treehouse).

Travelers can also pre-stock their kitchens.

The biggest addition is that of the resort’s new “butler signature service” called Marigot Moment Maestros.

“We have taken the time during our closure to really investigate how people will be traveling and what they want to get from their holiday experience. Our Residences offer the space and privacy guests crave after months in lockdown as they reconnect with loved ones and begin traveling to the Caribbean once again,” Director of Operations, Perle Flavien said. “The new Marigot Moment Maestros (Triple M) services will ensure guests feel special from the moment accommodation is reserved and will help to make them feel safe and at ease even before they travel by addressing any concerns they may have about the evolving travel environment.”

The Marigot Moment Maestros will cover every phase of a traveler’s trip, from a personal meet-and-greet at Saint Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport to day and night availability for “any guest request, big or small.”

Saint Lucia first reopened its borders for international tourism in June.

Heading to Saint Lucia? Travelers need to have a COVID-19 PCR negative test result taken no more than 7 days before the date of travel. (You can find more on Saint Lucia’s travel health and safety protocols here).
