Jamaica’s Sunset at the Palms All-Inclusive to Reopen in July

By: Dana Niland - June 14, 2020

Sunset at the Palms, the adults-only, treehouse-style, all-inclusive resort in Negril, will reopen to guests on Thursday, July 9.

Jamaica will reopen to international visitors on June 15, but the resort is taking a few additional weeks to ensure that the dozens of new protocols they’ve adopted to enhance safety and sanitization practices are fully in place and tested before its first guests arrive.

“We’re delighted to once again open our doors to our guests, who have always been like an extension of our family,” said Ian Kerr, Managing Director for Sunset Resorts. “Our team thrives on taking superb care of those guests, and we’ve felt their absence not only at the hotel but also in our hearts. We’ve spent these past few months focused on all the positive changes we can make to ensure that everyone who comes here to escape the pressures of daily life – and those stressors have multiplied tenfold in the past several weeks – can enjoy a worry-free vacation.”

New safety procedures include encouraging guests to use the resort’s online check-in system; a reimagining of the property to ensure social distancing; reservation-only dining and the elimination of buffets; hand-sanitizing stations placed throughout the resort; new cleaning products and regular temperature checks of staff and guests.

The resort has a total of 85 treehouse-style rooms spread out throughout a jungle garden.

Sunset at the Palms also said it would be providing all of its guests with Club Mobay service upon arrival at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.

An ambassador greets guests as they disembark from their plane and escorts them through the Jamaican customs and immigration process, skipping lines and therefore allowing those visitors to both save time and efficiently practice social distancing from the moment they arrive on the island.
