Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Now Planning July 25 Relaunch

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - May 26, 2020

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line is now planning to relaunch sailings on July 25, the company said.

Cruises on its Grand Celebration ship will resume July 25, while its Grand Classica ship will relaunch on Oct. 2.

The company has pushed back its relaunch date several times in the last few months amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company operates short cruises between the Port of Palm Beach and The Bahamas.

“As things begin to return to normal after months of quarantine, we can all use a quick getaway. When we return, our onboard experience may look a little different to our guests,” said Oneil Khosa, CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. “The wellness of our passengers and crew members remains our top priority, and as such, passengers can expect enhanced sanitization procedures from embarkation to disembarkation so that they can enjoy a relaxing, safe, stress-free getaway. We look forward to welcoming everyone onboard soon!”

The changes, which could offer a glimpse of what larger cruise lines will be doing when they reopen in the future, will include protocols like limiting the number of in-use staterooms by 40 percent; closing two-passenger stateroom decks to “reduce crowds on board the ship”; mandatory temperature checks and pre-boarding health declarations for all guests; “extensive santization and disinfection” at the port terminal; and suspension of self-service buffet stations.

The sweeping protocols even include the availability of isolated wards in the medical center for guests “or those concerned that they have been exposed to COVID-19.”

While the company has set a target date of July 25, it should be noted that The Bahamas has not yet announced an official tourism reopening date.
