Germany’s Oetker Collection, the global luxury hotel portfolio, has a new chief executive officer.

Dr Timo Gruenert officially took the reins on May 1, succeeding Frank Marrenbach in the role.

Gruenert had served most recently as Oetker’s CFO and co-managing director.

“We can consider ourselves very lucky that we are able to organize a smooth transition of the senior leadership function of the company with the appointment of Dr. Gruenert, who joined the Oetker Group back in 2005 and who has created much of what Oetker Collection represents today over the past ten years of his tenure in close partnership with Mr. Marrenbach,” said Dr. Heino Schmidt, chairman of the supervisory board of Oetker Collection.

Oetker Collection’s global group of hotels includes two of the most exclusive resort properties in the Caribbean: Antigua and Barbuda’s Jumby Bay Island and St Barth’s Eden Rock St Barths.
