There’s a Hot New Cocktail Bar in The Bahamas

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 8, 2019

There’s a new craft cocktail bar in the heart of The Bahamas’ most popular destination.

It’s called Bon Vivants Cafe and Bar, and the new bar is set in Nassau’s Sandyport neighborhood.

The bar, with a decor featuring oversized rattan chairs, lush wallpaper and a vintage cocktail glass collection, hosts a weekly jazz night on Wednesdays.

It’s the brainchild of Young’s Fine Wine, one of The Bahamas’ top wine purveyors. which says the bar’s concept and ambience “draw inspiration from the lush history of our beautiful Bahamaland as well as the infamous life and writings of Ernest Hemingway.”

But the centerpiece is a 23-page menu featuring more than 48 drinks, everything from classic cocktails to premium spirits and “adult-versions of childhood favorites.”

It’s a welcome addition to what is one of the hottest dining scenes in the Caribbean, from mainstays like Graycliff and Cafe Matisse to new eateries at the Baha Mar and Atlantis.
