Frontier is adding a new nonstop route to the Dominican Republic’s tourism capital of Punta Cana as part of a wider expansion of its network.

The low-cost carrier has announced plans to launch a new route from Orlando to Punta Cana.

The new service, which will begin operating this spring, with flights running on twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

We continue to make air travel more accessible and affordable for Americans,” said Daniel Shurz, Senior Vice President, Commercial for Frontier Airlines. “We look forward to making it easier for people to fly, and for people to fly more often.”

The announcement comes as Frontier has expanded its Caribbean presence in the last year, particularly out of Raleigh-Durham.
