Los Cabos Gets Two New Routes from Canada

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 25, 2018

The bustling Mexican tourism hotspot of Los Cabos is getting a lift this season from Canadian carrier Sunwing, which recently launched two new routes to the destination.

Sunwing has launched its first-ever flights to Los Cabos from both Ottawa and Kelowna in British Columbia.

The new weekly service from Kelowna will operate every Saturday through April 20, 2019.

The Ottawa flights are operating weekly on Thursdays, with service running through April 11, 2019.

“Nonstop access to a vibrant destination like Los Cabos is exactly the type of air service that Ottawa-Gatineau residents appreciate and expect from their home airport. We’re thrilled that Sunwing sees the upside of adding more choices to their extensive Ottawa International Airport portfolio,” said Mark Laroche, president and CEO of the Ottawa International Airport Authority.

The new flights come as Sunwing’s frequent vacation partner, Riu, has opened a new resort in Los Cabos: the adults-only Riu Palace Baja California, which made its debut earlier this month.
