Riu to Open New All-Inclusive in Costa Mujeres, Mexico
By the Caribbean Journal staff
Fast-growing Riu Hotels has launched construction on another major new all-inclusive resort project.
Riu has officially begun work on the new Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, which is located right next to the recently-debuted Hotel Riu Dunamar on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, which opened its doors in December 2017.
The new Riu Palace Costa Mujeres will have 670 rooms on a beachfront location in Costa Mujeres, slated to debut by the end of the year.
Costa Mujeres is located on a peninsula on the mainland across from Isla Mujeres.
Culinary offerings will include everything from Japanese and Italian to Mexican and even a show-cooking eatery.
The property will also have six bars, including the brand’s new “Capuchino”coffee shop with pastries and a Jamaican-style barbecue station.
And then there are the pools, all six of them, along with a full-service spa and a gym.
Guests at the Riu Palace will have access to the Splash Water Park at the Riu Dunamar, which is set between the two properties.
The new Riu Palace is the latest in what has been a significant expansion push for Riu’s resorts in the Caribbean, from the new Dunamar to an expanded adults-only offering in Punta Cana.
