Low-cost air carrier Spirit Airlines is expanding its Caribbean network.

The carrier has announced plans to expand to daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and St Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands.

The new service between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and St Thomas’ Cyril E. King International Airport will begin operating on March 10.

It’s an additional boost for a destination that has been making its recovery in the wake of Hurricane Irma.

Indeed, all beaches and most activities and attractions have reopened in St Thomas, with national park sites having reopened as well.
