VIDEO: The Caribbean’s Hippest Hotel

There isn’t anywhere like this.

The design, the decor, the little details that dot the place.

This is the O:live Boutique Hotel, a 15-room property in the heart of Puerto Rico’s luxurious Condado district, and it’s the hippest hotel in the Caribbean.

It’s as much a passion project as a hotel, with owners Loisse Herger and Fernando Davila creating this place as a conduit for the inspiration of all of their travels around the world, particularly in the Mediterranean.

Every room is different, but put together with equal attention to detail, from marvelous outdoor patios to remarkable bathrooms.

And then there’s the spectacular rooftop, with a bar, a pool and sweeping views of the Condado Lagoon.

It’s helped turn Condado into the destination it is today, a hip, chic enclave that’s worth the trip to Puerto Rico all by itself. (And it’s even expanding.)

And in a time where the island is recovering, it’s a halo, a rarefied corner of San Juan that’s a haven for travelers with great taste.
