Hilton’s Caribbean expansion has continued with the launch of the brand-new Conrad Cartagena on the Caribbean coast of Colombia.

Conrad Cartagena is the brand’s first hotel in Colombia and third in Latin America.

The property has a total of 109 guest rooms and suites, along with five pools, a 9,600-square-foot spa, a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and a kids club. There’s also a kosher kitchen.

This year, the hotel will add another 159 rooms.

“With Cartagena being one of the most popular destinations in the country, we are proud to announce the opening of Conrad Cartagena as the newest addition to our luxury portfolio in the region,” said Tom Potter, senior vice president, operations, Latin America and the Caribbean, Hilton. “We recognize the significance of this city in Colombia and have placed a focus on the expansion of our portfolio throughout the country.”

Conrad Cartagena has seven food and beverage concepts: its signature restaurant, Biblioteka, led by Chef Gabriela Gomez; Adesso Tu, a breakfast eatery and pizzeria; Karibana Beach Club, featuring local street food and a pool bar and restaurant; Sun Bar, a cocktail bar; Market Cafe, a Colombian coffee house; Sea Salt Grill, a grille; and Son y Ron, the lobby bar.

Conrad Cartagena also includes more than 24,000 feet of flexible event space, including a 9,000-square-foot grand ballroom; the property has an overall event capacity of 1,400 guests.

“As the brand’s debut property in Colombia, Conrad Cartagena represents our continued commitment to expanding Conrad’s footprint in Latin America,” said John Vanderslice, global head, Conrad Hotels & Resorts. “We look forward to offering guests an innovative way to stay inspired by introducing travelers to the brand’s exceptional hospitality and curating experiences that pay tribute to luxury living.”

Cartagena has been one of the Caribbean’s fastest-growing hubs for tourism investment in recent years, as more carriers have launched air service from North America, including JetBlue and Delta and, most recently, Air Canada.
