A Great Boutique Dive Hotel in Curaçao

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 26, 2017

Curaçao has long been one of the best-kept secrets in Caribbean diving.

There’s something for everyone, from wreck diving and reef diving to both bore and shore diving. Indeed, there’s a remarkable array of shore diving options, something that’s hard to find in the region.

And if you’re looking for a full-fledged dive hotel, there’s a new favorite: the Scuba Lodge.

Scuba Lodge is set in the heart of Willemstad (about a 15-minute walk from the Queen Emma bridge), with a unique offering of 28 rooms and 11 apartments in a group of colorful 19th century buildings.

The rooms are well-appointed and modern (particularly Scuba Lodge’s superior deluxe ocean view rooms).

There’s a cool vibe here, with two pools, including an oceanfront infinity pool, along with an excellent restaurant serving three meals a day.

And oh yes, the diving.

Scuba Lodge’s team of dive instructors have made more than 8,000 dives, with 25 years of diving experience on the island, and the property offers a range of dive packages, both with and without dive equipment, along with one with unlimited air and weights.

And make sure you don’t miss the dive shop’s famous Thursday afternoon happy hours.
