Southwest Airlines traffic saw a boost in March, according to the company’s latest data report.

The carrier flew 11.3 billion revenue passenger miles in March, up 3.9 percent from the 10.9 billion it flew in March 2016.

Available seat miles increased by 4.5 percent to 13.4 billion last month, while load factor declined by 0.5 percentage points to 84.1 percent.

Southwest has been expanding rapidly in the Caribbean, with new flights to destinations like the Cayman Islands, Belize and Cancun.

The company said that while it expected revenue per available seat mile to decline in the first quarter, bookings and unit revenue trends for the second quarter “remain strong.”
