The 10 Best Bermuda Hotels

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 8, 2017

Just about 90 minutes flying time from most east-coast U.S. cities, Bermuda should definitely be on your short list of close-to-home beach getaways. While it’s not actually in the Caribbean, we embrace the Atlantic archipelago as one of the family because the island experience is, in all the most important ways, so similar to that of the Caribbean (and Bermuda is actually an associate member of the Caribbean Community “CARICOM” bloc).

Warm welcomes, alluring beaches, a relaxed lifestyle and warm weather (well, most of the year!) are the things that bring travelers to both destinations.

So if you’re a Caribbean lover, why not expand your horizons and plan a trip further north? Here are the top 10 Bermuda hotels.

Bermuda Hotels

Elbow Beach Bermuda As if its half-mile swath of pink sand weren’t impressive enough, this luxurious south shore resort, spread over 50 acres, counts four restaurants, an Asian-inspired spa, and 98 modern suites (complete with complimentary Dark and Stormy-making kits!) among its assets.

Bermuda Hotels

Rosewood Tucker’s Point The living is easy – and luxurious – at this posh cloister overlooking Castle Harbour, where four restaurants, three pools, arguably the island’s best spa, and a challenging golf course are at the disposal of well-heeled guests, cosseted in 88 plush rooms and suites.

Bermuda Hotels

Fairmont Southampton, Bermuda Spread over 100 acres, this iconic 45-year-old resort (sister to the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club) looks fabulous for its age. Beyond the half-moon of famously pink sand at the resort’s private beach club, highlights include beachfront tennis courts; the huge Willow Stream spa; and the 18-hole Turtle Hill golf course, ranked among the island’s best.

Bermuda Hotels

Rosedon Hotel Walking distance from Hamilton’s Front Street (and therefore ideal for business travelers), this homey 39-room hotel offers an authentic Bermudian experience delivered with genuine hospitality by a longstanding staff.

Bermuda Hotels

Cambridge Beaches Resort & Spa Elegant yet with an easygoing vibe, this century-old adults-only “cottage colony” marries modern conveniences (a South Beach-style poolscape; complimentary WI-FI and marble bathrooms) with traditional touches such as afternoon tea and a croquet lawn to instantly charming effect that exemplify the greatest Bermuda hotels.

Bermuda Hotels

Hamilton Princess & Beach Club Walking distance from Hamilton, the “Pink Palace” is the host hotel for this year’s America’s Cup. But whether or not you’re into sailing you’ll appreciate the recent upgrades, which include a Marcus Samuelsson restaurant, a 60-slip marina, and 458 sleek rooms and suites that belie the grand dame’s 132-year-old history.

Bermuda Hotels

The Reefs Resort & Club The complimentary Rum Swizzle (Bermuda’s national cocktail) served on arrival instantly puts you in the mood to enjoy the pleasures of this 65-room cliff-top boutique in Southampton parish, which boasts three restaurants, an impressive spa, and its own quiet cove.

Bermuda Hotels

Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa With airport shuttles, daily breakfast, ferries into town, WI-FI, and even a round of golf included in the rate, you’ll likely forgive the fact that this modern and stylish 45-room resort isn’t directly on the beach, unlike most other Bermuda hotels. (But there’s a free shuttle to get there, too.)

Bermuda Hotels

The Loren At Pink Beach The first new hotel here in a decade debuted in 2017, but with 45 oceanfront suites and three residences; two restaurants; and two pools, this Tucker’s Town resort is poised to join the best Bermuda hotels.

Bermuda Hotels

Coco Reef Bermuda

This venerable beach resort (with its show-stopping lobby) is a great, simple option for a classic Bermuda beach vacation thanks to its own private beach very close to Hamilton. It all adds up to one of the top Bermuda hotels.

As you can see, Bermuda hotels offer a range of options for every kind of traveler.
