SLS Baha Mar Planning Fourth Quarter 2017 Opening

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - March 7, 2017

The highly anticipated SLS Baha Mar is targeting an opening date in the fourth quarter of this year, according to the company.

The resort will form part of the wider Baha Mar complex, which is hoping for an April debut for its first phase.

The hotel will have 299 rooms and 107 residential units.

SLS parent company sbe also announced that the SLS Baha Mar now has a general manager.

Executive Chris Sariego is joining the company as vice president and general manager of both SLS Baha Mar and the Delano South Beach hotel in Miami.

“Chris joins sbe with extensive experience in the luxury hospitality industry,” stated Jorge Giannattasio, Chief Operating Officer at sbe. “We are excited for him to run Delano, which is one of the premier destinations in Miami, as well as SLS Baha Mar, one of the most expansive developments in the Caribbean.”

Sariego had most recently served as senior vice president and general manager at Atlantis Paradise Island with responsibility for the Cove resort.

“sbe is a disruptive force in the lifestyle hospitality space and I am honored to be managing Delano and SLS Baha Mar,” Sariego said. “Both properties are iconic, with Delano being a staple in the Miami landscape, and SLS Baha Mar soon to make history being the largest luxury resort project in the Caribbean. I look forward to overseeing them as sbe continues its growth.”
