When Harry Met Sea Turtles

Prince Harry Nevis

Prince Harry made a stop in Nevis on Wednesday, joining the island’s Nevis Turtle Group for a rather royal duty: releasing sea turtle hatchlings on the island’s Lovers Beach into the ocean.

Nevis has been at the forefront of the sea turtle conservation movement, led by Nevis Turtle Group founder Lemuel Pemberton and in partnership with the Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

Indeed, the Four Seasons holds an annual Sea Turtle Conservancy weekend that allows guests to go on turtle walks, learn about the critically endangered creatures and watch turtles get tagged and released back to the sea for monitoring.

This year’s weekend will be the 11th annual edition.

Prince Harry is on a two-week visit across the Caribbean region.
