St. Kitts and Nevis, United Arab Emirates Sign Air Services Agreement

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - November 23, 2016 - 3:30 pm

St. Kitts and Nevis and the United Arab Emirates have signed a landmark air services agreement, the two sides announced this week.

The agreement intends to pave the way for future air traffic between the two countries.

In a meeting before the signing, St. Kitts and Nevis Foreign Minister Mark Brantley met with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Makotoum, chairman and CEO of the Emirates airline.

The question becomes, then, whether that could mean a flight by Emirates to St. Kitts, something that has been postulated ever since the launch of the Park Hyatt St. Kitts project by Dubai-based Range Developments.

While that could be some years off, it’s not out of the realm of possibility, particularly considering the upcoming launch of the world’s longest nonstop flight, which Emirates will be operating between Dubai and Panama City beginning Feb. 1 on Boeing 777 aircraft.
