Latin America, Caribbean Traffic Slide Continues for American Airlines

American Airlines Group continues to report declining traffic in the Latin America and Caribbean region, according to the company’s latest numbers.

The carrier reported 2.551 billion revenue passenger miles in June, down 3.1 percent from 2.632 billion in June 2015.

The carrier also saw a 5.2 percent decline in available seat miles to the region, reporting 3.2 billion, down from 3.38 billion in June 2015.

Load factor in Latin America and the Caribbean rose by 1.7 percentage points to 79.7.

Those numbers came as American Airlines reported positive overall growth in revenue passenger miles for the company, with a 2.2 percent improvement compared to the same period last year.
