W Hotels Worldwide has announced that W Mexico City has completed a multi-phase transformative renovation, including the debut of new restaurant J BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS.

The renovation was led by New York-based designer Anurag Nema of Nemaworkshop in partnership with Starwood’s award-winning design team, and is inspired by a masquerade.

The hotel’s 237 guest rooms have been revitalized with floor-to-ceiling imagery that showcases the strength and diversity of Mexico City and its characters.

Modern interpretations of the Azteca, Luchador, Conquistador and Adelita were commissioned exclusively for the hotel, and are reflected in imagery by Mexican artist Ivan Aguirre.

“Our guests not only look for modern and luxurious amenities, but also for a true sense of connection to the destination they are visiting,” said General Manager Thomas Jecklin. “We look forward to welcoming guests to rediscover the energy of W Mexico City and finding what’s new and next in one of the world’s most fascinating cities.”

W Mexico City’s signature lobby bar concept, Living Room, also combines Mexico City’s rich culture and ancient past with a social scene famous for fiestas and festivals.

J BY JOSÉ ANDRÉS is the latest restaurant concept from Chef José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup.

The restaurant offers a unique approach to Spanish cuisine, with dishes that present the flavors of Andrés’ native Spain while also incorporating dishes native to Mexico City.

Completing the hotel’s transformation are the new luxury spa concept and updated E-WOW suite.
