Oh, Christmas tree!

We’re merry impressed with this inventive Caribbean riff on the traditional fir tree in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Trinidad in Port-Of-Spain.

The show-stopping, 20-foot-tall bamboo-inspired Christmas creation is the work of avant-garde local designer, Brian MacFarlane. It’s a masterpiece of overlapping bamboo pieces that are affixed to an underlying metal frame and crowned with star that almost touches the ceiling.

Here’s hoping there’ll be some fittingly Caribbean-inspired presents underneath it on Christmas morning!
