Starwood Hotels and Resorts has announced plans to open a new W Hotel in Mexico next year.

The company will debut W Punta de Mita in the Los Veneros community on the Riviera Nayarit.

The property, scheduled to open in 2016, will have 120 guest villas.

The typical W mainstays will be on hand: the W Living Room, the W Lounge, the WET outdoor pool deck and a signature restaurant, among other features.

“Starwood is growing at an exciting pace in Latin America, and the W brand is a key player in this growth,” said Victor Vazquez, Vice President of Development and Acquisitions, Starwood Latin America. “Throughout the region, Starwood’s momentum is being driven by our ability to provide distinct design-led brands that exceed the expectations of developers, owners and travelers alike.”

The property will be located about 10 miles from the Puerto Vallarta International Airport.

Starwood already has a St. Regis hotel in the Punta Mita area.
