The Moon Palace Jamaica Grande Resort and Spa is slated to hold a soft opening in July following a successful renovation process, according to Jamaica Tourism Minister Dr Wykeham McNeill.

Last week,McNeill and representatives of Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) toured the 705-room hotel site in St Ann.

“I am confident that the new brand, Moon Palace, will be another notch in the belt for brand Jamaica and strengthen our position in the international area,” McNeill said.

The Minister also said that Moon Palace would bring “a new dimension” to St Ann’s capital, Ocho Rios.

“We are working on Ocho Rios in a holistic manner. Ocho Rios as a destination has a characteristic of being both a stop-over as well as a cruise destination.”

The Moon Palace property is the result of a major transformation of the former Sunset Jamaica Grande.

The project launched in late 2014.
