Jamaica has identified its shortlist of bidders for the privatization of Kingston’s Norman Manley International Airport, the government said this week.
The five potential bidders will be invited to participate in the request for proposal stage; they have been identified by an Enterprise Team established to supervise the airport’s privatization.
The five firms are from Ruope, Asia and South America.
“We take particular pleasure in the fact that two shortlisted consortiums include Jamaican partners,” said Transport Minister Dr Omar Davies. “I have also been informed that a third is actively seeking collaboration with Jamaican firms involved in the aviation industry.”
Bidding documents will be issued at the beginning of June, with a transaction anticipated to be completed by early next year.
