From the Caribbean’s “nature island,” of Dominica we’re sharing Rosalie Bay resort’s signature cocktail, a rum-vodka combo guaranteed to transport you to where the Rosalie River meets black-sand beaches in a single sip. The magic ingredient? Rum infused with bois bande, made from the bark of a local tree and reputed to be a potent aphrodisiac. We can’t say for sure if it works but knock one back and see what comes up!

Rosalie Bay Resort’s Seaside Magic

Ingredients

1 ounce        coconut rum

1 ounce         vodka

½ ounce        bois bande-infused rum

2 ounces       pineapple juice (Rosalie Bay recommends organic pineapple juice)

½ ounce        Grenadine

Method

Pour rum, vodka, and pineapple juice into an ice-filled shaker and shake well. Strain into a hurricane glass half-filled with ice. Add grenadine and top up with bois bande. Garnish with pineapple wedge, and enjoy.
