ST THOMAS — Curacao will be hosting the 2015 Caribbean Tourism Organization State of the Industry Conference, it was announced Friday.

The conference comes as the Dutch Caribbean island looks to make a renewed tourism push following several years of slowed arrivals growth.

This year’s event is being hosted in St Thomas, US Virgin Islands, at the Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, following the 2013 State of the Industry Conference in Martinique.

The SOTIC conference has become the leading tourism conference in the Caribbean region, gathering together government ministers and officials, tourism directors, media and others to discuss the future of the region’s largest economic driver.

Next year’s conference will likely be held sometime in October.
