Panama President Meets With Former Mexico President Vicente Fox

Panama President Juan Carlos Varela met this week with former Mexico President Vicente Fox in the context of the Business Future of the Americas conference.

Varela and Fox discussed “experiences on good practices of social and economic policies,” according to a statement from Varela’s office.

The meeting, which was held at the Palacio de Las Garzas in Panama City, also addressed the position of Panama as one of the region’s booming economies.

Fox was the keynote speaker of the event, which covered sustainable growth in the Americas region.

He served as Mexico’s president from 2000 to 2006.

Also joining the pair were Sajan Pillai, CEO of UST Global and Dr Juan Hernandez, an executive at UST Global, along with Miguel Angel Esbri, executive secretary of the Secretariat of Economic Affairs and Competitiveness of the Ministry of the Presidency.
