Trinidad Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine held talks last week with Sir John Grant, the executive vice president of British energy firm BG Group.

Grant was joined by Chris Cox, executive vice president of BG Advance.

BG Group’s Trinidad and Tobago subsidiary, BG T&T, is the second largest producer of natural gas in what is the Caribbean’s leading energy-producing country.

In a statement released by the Energy Ministry, the two sides focused their discussions on “development of the Starfish field and upcoming plans for new projects and investments.”

The group was also joined by Garvin Goddard, Asset General Manager at BG T&T and Selwyn Lashley, Permanent Secretary in the Energy Ministry.

Ramnarine has held meetings with several other major energy companies doing business in Trinidad in the last month, including BP and BHP Billiton.
