The Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort in Tobago has named Bernard Sarme its new general manager, the property announced Wednesday.

Sarme, a 40-year veteran of the hospitality industry, was appointed by efm Hospitality Solutions, the operator of the resort.

“We are excited to announce that Bernard Sarme is joining the Magdalena Grand family,” said John Murphy, principal at efm Hospitality Solutions. “Bernard’s extensive resume is second to none and we’re confident that the Magdalena Grand will thrive under his leadership.”

Sarme’s hospitality career has included stints in Anguilla, Bora Bora and Egypt, among other stops.

He was most recently the project director and consultant for the La Licorne D’Or boutique hotel in Grand Case, St Martin.

“Sarme’s success in the hospitality industry stems from a vast range of experience and hard work,” Murphy said. “The skills and experience Sarme brings to the Magdalena Grand will prove invaluable in the future.”

The Magdalena Grand recently took over management of the 18-hole Tobago Plantations Golf Course and completely refurbished the course.

The 178-room hotel is located on the Tobago Plantations Estate, about 15 minutes from ANR Robinson International Airport.
