Haiti PM Names New Minister For Parliamentary Relations

Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe has named a new Minister for Relations With Parliament, his office announced on Monday evening.

Phelito Doran has been named the new Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Relations With Parliament, according to a statement from Lamothe’s office.

Doran is replacing Ralph Theano, who had most recently held the role. The statement did not give a reason for the change, which was approved Monday by Haiti President Michel Martelly.

Doran had most recently served as president of Haiti’s Chamber of Deputies for the 47th legislature.

The move is the latest change following a Cabinet shakeup that occurred as part of the recent El Rancho accord between Haiti’s branches of government.
