St Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport will soon be launching construction on a new state of the art Fixed Base Operations facility for private jets.
The facility is “urgently needed,” according to Michel Hyman, operations manager at Princess Juliana Airport.
“Every year there is an increase in requests to park private jets at SXM,” he said. “Unfortunately, due to limited space, we can only accommodate so much and no more.”
That has forced the airport to become “more creative, of course, without compromising safety and security, which are the main pillars of our operations,” he said.
That will change with the new facility, which is part of a wider capital improvement programme at the airport.
