Norma Powell has been named the new Director General of Haiti’s Centre for Facilitation of Investments, the National Palace announced.
Powell, whose appointment was revealed in a statement from the office of Haiti President Michel Martelly, succeeds Georges Andy Rene in the position.
Martelly’s office did not announce a reason for the change.
Powell has most recently served in a public relations capacity for the Brasserie Nationale d’Haiti (Brana), which produces Haiti’s Prestige beer.
She has also served as vice president of the Association of Industries of Haiti.
The CFI was established in 2006 by a decree of then-Haitian President Boniface Alexandre.
It aims to act as the “first port of call for foreign investors interested in Haiti.”
Martelly’s office also announced the appointment of Harrison Ernest as the new Director General of the Radio Nationale d’Haiti.
