Haiti Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe visited Davos, Switzerland this week for the World Economic Forum.

Lamothe’s office said he had already held talks with former British Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, with whom he “discussed opportunities to develop partnerships in training and modernization of public governance,” according to a statement.

Among his other meetings, Lamothe held court with international finance notables including George Soros.

Lamothe’s office said Soros agreed to “quickly take a mission” to Port-au-Prince.

Following his Davos trip, Lamothe will head to Addis Ababa for the 22nd regular session of the African Union Summit.

Haiti has been looking to expand its ties with that regional body since Haiti President Michel Martelly assumed his office in 2011.

Lamothe also visited Davos for the World Economic Forum in 2013.
