The Matachica Resort & Spa in Belize has completed a series of upgrades to the property.

The Matachica has expanded its outdoor dining area and its bar-lounge to improve views of the sea, adding a new palapa and a thatched roof made of palm trees.

The resort has also added new Dedon furniture to its beach, pool, pier and lounge.

“We are thrilled to unveil these upgrades and expansions,” said proprietor Daniel Lighter, who also owns the GAÏA Riverlodge, the Matachica’s sister property in Belize. “These improvements were made with our guests in mind, to optimize their experience at Matachica Resort & Spa.”

The Matachica is located on Belize’s Ambergris Caye, about 15 minutes from the country’s mainland.

The GAIA Riverlodge first opened its doors in 2012.
