The Belize Ocean Club has named West Tucker as its general manager. Tucker comes to Belize from the Century South Beach hotel in Miami Beach.

The resort is planning to open on Nov. 21, according to its Web site.

“West Tucker’s appointment as general Manager of Belize Ocean Club compliments the resorts position in the market,” said John Sears, managing director of Ocean Rock Hotel Group, in a statement. Belize Ocean Club brings a flavor and rhythm of Miami Beach to Belize and what a better way than having a seasoned general manager straight from the heart of South Beach.”

The boutique resort, which is located on Maya Beach in Placencia will include a restaurant, Fish Story Grille, a “Maya Beach Bar” and what the property says will be the largest private swimming pool in Belize.
