New Culinary Team at El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico

El Conquistador Resort & Las Casitas Village, a Waldorf Astoria Resort has unveiled a new executive culinary team.

The property has named Al Amengual as Director of Food & Beverage and Donovan Campbell as executive chef, effective immediately.

The pair will lead the resort’s 23 dining outlets, including its signature Chops Steakhouse restaurant.

“We’re excited to welcome both Al and Chef Donovan to El Conquistador Resort & Las Casitas Village,” said Dermot Connolly, managing director at the resort, in a statement. “We look forward to bringing their extensive experience in luxury resorts and great talents of culinary excellence and creativity to raise the bar on the culinary experience for our guests.”

Amengual spent the last eight years with Starwood Hotels & Resorts, most recently as director of food and beverage at the W Retreat and Spa in Vieques.

Campbell was previously executive chef aboard the Celebrity Equinox cruise ship. His career has included stints at the Wynn and Bellagio resorts in Las Vegas as well.
