The Perfect Wedding in Dominica

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - September 26, 2013

You may know it as the Nature Island, but you might as well call it the Wedding Island.

Few places in the Caribbean offer the kind of diversity of experience you’ll find in Dominica, where tying the knot at a destination wedding is an experience like no other.

Whether you’re looking for a small, intimate ceremony on a cliffside at Secret Bay, or a larger ceremony on the beach at Rosalie Bay, Dominica has you covered.

At Rosalie Bay, bride and groom can walk among the trees through a nature trail — or on a private black-sand beach.

A number of hotels in the country offer specialized vacation packages geared toward both weddings and honeymoons.

On the northern tip of the island, Secret Bay is the perfect spot for a private wedding — just you, a group of friends, and one of the most spectacular vistas you’ll ever set eyes on.

The Jungle Bay property offers “escape weddings,” with the chance to tie the knot next to a waterfall or inside a Dominican jungle.

The only question will be — should you stay in Dominica for your honeymoon, too?
