A major renovation project is slated to begin in a few weeks at the Hamilton Princess Hotel in Bermuda, according to the government.

The project, which will reportedly cost around $70 million, will be dispersed over several phases. It had originally been slated to cost $50 million but the budget was later increased by the Green family.

The property was purchased by the Green family in late 2012, The Greens also purchased the former Sonesta Resort in Bermuda March 2013.

The first phase of the project will turn the west side pool into an infinity pool, while 69 guestrooms and suites in the property’s Poinciana wing will be renovated.

The Fairmont will also be building what it called a “state-of-the-art” marina at the property, with 66 berths and docking space for an additional 30 vessels.

The property will be remaining open as the project unfolds, however.
