A group of Caribbean Ministers is currently in Singapore for high-level talks.

The first-ever CARICOM High-Level Ministerial Exchange Visit to Singapore was headline Monday by the announcement of an enhanced technical assistance package for the Caribbean Community.

Among those Ministers on hand are Bahamian Foreign Minister Frederick Mitchell and Guyana Foreign Minister Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett.

The assistance will be coming under the Singapore Cooperation Programe, with more reportedly to come over the next three years.

The meeting is being hosted by K Shanmugam, Singapore’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, who said ties between the Caribbean and Singapore are continuing to grow.

Singapore will also be giving out a number of postgraduate scholarships for CARICOM officials admitted to universities in Singapore.

“We will also explore how we can enhance our partnership with the CARICOM Secretariat to jointly organize capacity-building programmes,” Shanmugam said.
The Caribbean Ministers will be visiting Singapore through Friday.
