St Kitts may be the smallest country in the Caribbean, but its hotel sector is showing significant growth.

The large-scale Kittitian Hill project, located on the northwest interior of St Kitts, has announced plans to open its first phase at the end of 2013.

The first phase will feature boutique spa hotel called Belle Mont Farm, located on Kittitian Hill’s 400-acre tropical fruit farm, managed by Sedona Resorts. The property did not disclose the exact number of rooms that would be included in the first phase.

Kittitian Hill’s phase one will also include a villa component called Yaya Groves and an 18-hold golf course designed by Welsh professional golfer Ian Woosnam called Irie Fields.

The property is billing the course as the world’s “most edible golf course,” as it will be located within organic farmland.

Kittitian Hill plans to open a larger, standalone spa called Mango Walk Spa in 2014.

The project, which first broke ground in 2010, is being developed by Val Kempadoo.
