Organization of Eastern Caribbean States Heads of Government will be meeting in Antigua and Barbuda beginning June 2 for the 57th meeting of the OECS Authority.

The authority, which is made up of Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers, is the highest policy-making body in the subregional integration movement.

The summit will take place from June 2 to June 4 in St John’s, during which time outgoing OECS Chairman, St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, will transfer the chairmanship to Antigua PM Dr Baldwin Spencer.

In a statement, the OECS said the talks would focus on the “financial landscape and the OECS development strategy.”

The OECS has received praise in recent years for the pace of its integration efforts, particularly in comparison to the slower movement of CARICOM.

The event will take place at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa at Dickenson Bay.
